Bannerman Markets Ltd provides financial advisory, brokerage, and intelligence services to qualified institutional and professional counterparties. Nothing on this Site constitutes an offer, solicitation, or recommendation to buy or sell any financial instrument, commodity, or security. The firm's services are not directed at retail investors.
A formal engagement between the firm and any counterparty is established exclusively through a written engagement letter signed by both parties. Submission of an inquiry, subscription to a publication, or preliminary conversation does not constitute engagement and does not create any contractual relationship or advisory obligation on the part of the firm.
All content on the Site — including text, graphics, logos, trademarks, and publications — is the exclusive property of Bannerman Markets Ltd or its licensors, protected under Nigerian and applicable international intellectual property law. No content may be reproduced, redistributed, or used commercially without the firm's express written permission. Subscribers to the firm's publications may use such publications solely for their own internal reference.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Bannerman Markets Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the Site or the firm's publications. The firm's liability under any formal engagement is limited to the terms of the applicable written engagement letter.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Lagos State, unless otherwise specified in a written engagement letter between the parties.
The firm reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the date of the most recent revision. Continued use of the Site following any update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
Bannerman Markets Ltd is committed to protecting the privacy and confidentiality of all personal information entrusted to the firm. This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected, how it is used, and the rights of individuals under Nigerian data protection law.
The firm may collect the following:
All information submitted to the firm is held in strict confidence. Subscriber lists are never shared with any third party under any circumstance. The firm does not sell, rent, license, or otherwise commercialize personal data. Information is accessible only to the firm's principals and authorized personnel operating under non-disclosure obligations.
The firm does not share personal information with third parties except: (a) with the explicit written consent of the individual; (b) where required by a court order, regulatory directive, or binding legal obligation under Nigerian law; (c) with external counsel or specialist advisors engaged under non-disclosure obligations in connection with a specific mandate; or (d) in connection with a corporate transaction affecting the firm, subject to continued data protection obligations on any transferee.
Personal information is retained for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, to comply with legal and regulatory obligations, and to maintain appropriate records of professional engagements. Subscribers may request deletion at any time by contacting privacy@bannermanmarkets.com.

Bannerman Markets Ltd processes personal data in compliance with the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR) 2019 and the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023. The firm operates as both a data controller and, where applicable, a data processor.
Where the firm transfers personal data outside Nigeria (for example, in connection with a cross-border mandate), such transfers comply with NDPR requirements, including transfers only to jurisdictions providing adequate protection or conducted under appropriate contractual safeguards.

This section summarises the firm's use of cookies. The full standalone Cookie Policy is available at bannermanmarkets.com/cookies.html.
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website when you visit it. They are widely used to make websites function efficiently and to provide basic reporting information to the site operator. They do not typically contain information that personally identifies a visitor.
The Site uses the minimum number of cookies necessary to operate. We do not use advertising cookies, behavioral targeting cookies, or third-party marketing trackers.
| Cookie | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| bm_cookie_consent | Essential | Records your cookie consent preference so the banner is not shown on every visit. | 12 months |
| _ga / _gid | Analytics | Google Analytics (only set if you Accept). Tracks aggregate page views, session duration, and referral source — no personally identifiable data. | Up to 24 months |
| Session cookies | Essential | Temporary cookies that expire when you close your browser. Used for basic site functionality. | Session only |
If you click "Accept Cookies," the Site will load Google Analytics to collect aggregate usage data — pages visited, time on site, browser type, approximate geographic region. This data is aggregated and does not identify individual visitors. It is used solely to understand how the Site is used and to improve its content. The firm does not share this data with advertisers or third-party data brokers.
If you click "Decline," no analytics cookies will be set. The Site will function fully without them.
When you first visit the Site, a cookie consent banner will appear at the bottom of the page. Your preference is saved in a first-party cookie for 12 months. You may change your preference at any time by clearing your browser cookies, which will cause the banner to reappear on your next visit. You may also manage cookies directly through your browser settings — most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies through their privacy or security settings.
Bannerman Markets does not serve advertising and does not use advertising, retargeting, or behavioural profiling cookies. The firm's products are ad-free. No third-party advertising network has access to this Site's visitor data.
The Site loads fonts from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com). This may result in a request to Google's servers when you visit the Site. Google's own privacy policy governs any data collected in connection with that request. The Site does not use any other third-party services that set cookies.
Bannerman Markets Ltd is a private limited company registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) of Nigeria. Corporate registration details are available to qualified counterparties in connection with an active engagement upon request.
The firm maintains regulatory registrations appropriate to each practice line, including active work toward: NIMASA Shipping Company Registration Licence (maritime practice); NUPRC OGISP Major Category permit (energy and upstream practice); and such additional registrations as are required for specific mandates. Where a mandate requires licensing beyond the firm's current posture, the firm partners with appropriately licensed counterparties or declines the engagement.
The firm maintains AML and counter-terrorism financing (CTF) procedures consistent with Nigerian regulatory requirements and international best practice. Client onboarding includes identity verification, beneficial ownership identification, source-of-funds analysis where applicable, and screening against applicable sanctions lists. The firm reserves the right to decline or terminate any engagement where AML or CTF concerns arise.
The firm maintains a conflicts-of-interest policy applicable to all engagements. Before accepting a mandate, conflict screening is conducted against active and recent engagements. Where a conflict arises, the firm discloses it and may decline the engagement or, with the informed written consent of all affected parties, proceed with appropriate information barriers.
The firm's compensation is received exclusively from its clients under written engagement letters. The firm does not receive commissions, referral fees, or any other form of compensation from financial institutions, asset managers, product providers, or third parties in connection with client services.
The Bannerman Standard and all other intelligence publications are produced for the general information of the firm's subscriber base. They do not constitute investment advice, solicitation, or recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any financial instrument, commodity, or security. Subscribers should not rely on the Standard as a substitute for professional advice tailored to their specific circumstances.
The firm's services and publications are directed exclusively at qualified institutional and professional counterparties. Nothing on this Site is directed at retail investors.
Publications are produced with care and based on sources believed reliable. The firm makes no representation as to accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any content, and assumes no liability for decisions taken on its basis. Market conditions change; published analyses may become dated.
Publications may contain forward-looking statements and scenario analyses. These reflect the firm's analytical view at the time of publication and are inherently uncertain. Actual outcomes may differ materially.
